Peter Alexander
As director of Talking Conservation in Portland ME, I provide a variety of consulting services to environmental and conservation organizations, from developing communications and fundraising strategies to writing grant proposals. I bring to this work a rich and diverse background of academic and professional experience. I have served as executive director of several organizations, including Biodiversity Project in Madison WI, the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution in Brattleboro VT, and the Center for Energy Efficiency in New Mexico where I developed award winning energy efficiency programs for both the state energy office and the US Department of Energy. In 2008 I was honored to be a recipient of the “Great Laker Award” for my work as the chief organizer for the Healthy Lakes Healthy Lives Tour, promoting restoration of the Great Lakes. I hold an MS in environmental studies from Antioch University New England and am a frequent prsenter at environmental and marine conservation conferences. I grew up in Washington, DC, where I graduated from St. Albans School before attending St. Johns College in Annapolis, MD.
